Namibia: College Lecturers Suspend Strike - AllAfrica.com

LECTURERS at Namibia's four colleges of instruction have got got called off their week-long strike for now and returned to social classes yesterday.
They downed tools last hebdomad over longstanding grudges that have been on the tabular array since 2003.
Windhoek College of Education (WCE ) guidance commission member Mare Katjeita confirmed the recommencement of social classes but declined to divulge more information.
Attempts to attain Republic Of Namibia National Teachers Union General Secretary Basilius Haingura proved ineffectual as he was purportedly attending meetings at the Office of the Prime Minister.

Meanwhile the pupil councils of the four colleges are put to throw a a countrywide presentation tomorrow to protest the hold in handling the lecturers' grievances.
The pupils program to process to the Ministry of Education where a request would be delivered.
The lectors are demanding that their wages be graded on the same scale of measurement as lectors at other Tertiary institutions.
